First of all we’d like to cover up for the past few days, the team of iBlogApple took a small break from all the tech-surfing & blogging for well over a week as we were in Thailand, beautiful country though. I personally tried to capture it all as much as possible in my camera. Click HERE if you’d like to see some of those photos. In fact the app @ hands was tried & tested there too & it really helped a lot! Like literally.
In Thailand, not everybody speaks English. TRUST ME. All I asked the locals was way to the nearest Starbucks & every time I ended up @ some massage parlor, I don’t know why? But this happened. Somehow i did reach Starbucks, but now i forgot my way back to the hotel. But this time around i had this awesome app with me, it’s called Waypoint. Now what it does is simple yet really smart. You just tap open it. Tap “Save This Location” & continue exploring the foreign lands you’re on. When you’re all tired & want nothing other than that Hazelnut Frappuccino with Caramel Syrup & you can’t find your way back to Starbucks. No need to worry, open Waypoint, tap “My Locations” & boom you now see the label Starbucks (remember you saved its location while you were there this morning). Tap the label & hit “Go There” & follow the compass all the way.
Waypoint works by simply saving the latitude & longitude of any given location. You can also send your saved locations to your friends incase they’re lost too & save many new ones as well. You can choose whether you want your distance from the destination to be shown in kilometers or in miles. The app uses GPS to do it’s job best but if you want accuracy, it would help if you switch on 3G as well.
Well go on, get it right now. Its out there for free.
